This sentence of Ludwig Wittgenstein also corresponds to the basic idea of my photographic activity and so this very same sentence also represents the essence for my creative work.

When I remember my youth, the most formative memories are all those that influenced me in my later professional choice to work as a photographer, for example when at the age of 12, together with a friend, I took my first own landscape photographs of a snow-covered moorland in winter in my homeland at the edge of the Teutoburg Forest using a pinhole camera. These Camera-Obscura-photographs, taken with the simplest means (a Coke can with a hole, a simple tripod and unexposed photo paper), were fascinating and inspired so much that from then on my hobby was B/W photography. My further artistic career was thus predetermined and a creative journey began, which to this day significantly determines my life.

Before I started with professional photography in 1997, I had already gone through several creative phases. And so my current way of working is shaped by the most diverse influences - an education as a stone sculptor, the collaboration with a renowned architectural photographer or the freelance work as a set designer for theater and video productions (u.A KHM (Academy of Media Arts), but above all by the ongoing personal confrontation with the polyvalent dimensions of their own environment. Thus, in each of my works, not only the clear, professional eye for spatial modes of representation and extraordinary lighting conditions can be seen, but also the multifaceted world of thought, which I expand with each photograph, each series, each story and each multimedia work by an essential aspect: by an artful variation of the familiar reality.

My work focus includes professional photography & videography in the field of architecture, editorial, landscape, trade fair and industry. My studio is located since 2011 in Düsseldorf-Pempelfort.
